Membership and opting out

New scheme members are normally entered automatically into the scheme.

If you are eligible but do not want to join or wish to leave the Scheme you may opt out of Scheme membership at the time you take up employment or at a later date.

If you do opt out of membership of the Scheme, you are allowed one opportunity to rejoin the Scheme at a later date as long as you are below age 58 and are confirmed as medically fit to be able to re-enter to the Scheme.
