Joining the Scheme

The Combined Pension Scheme of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (CPS) is a contributory final salary unfunded public service pension scheme. Membership of this scheme is open to employees of United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, National Nuclear Laboratory, International Nuclear Services, the Civil Nuclear Police Authority and some employees of the Health Protection Agency, who were formerly employed by the National Radiological Protection Board.

This site also covers details of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority Principal Non-Industrial Superannuation Scheme (PNISS) which is a closed pension scheme available to some employees of the Council for the Central Laboratory of the Research Councils, Science & Technology Facilities Council, the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council, the Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council and the Ministry of Defence.
