If you received a refund of UKAEA pension scheme contributions in respect of service prior to 6 April 1978 you would have been contracted out of the National Insurance State Graduated Pension Scheme during the period of UKAEA scheme service, and you may be due a small pension payment at retirement age from Norwich Union in respect of the period of contracted-out service. If this is applicable to you, at the time you left UKAEA pension scheme service you should have received a GPF 253 certificate from either Yorkshire General or the General Accident insurance company.

Over the years various insurance companies have been reorganised and the insurance policy used to secure this small pension payment for you would now be held by Norwich Union at the following address:-
