A member in service on 1 October 1973 (in the case of a former
non industrial scheme member 1 June 1972) who, within the time allowed under
Rule 2.07, has exercised an option granted to him by the Authority to uprate
the entitlement to widow’s pension in respect of his reckonable service
prior to that date from the one third rate (or in the case of a former non
industrial scheme member four-ninths rate) to the one-half rate shall have
his entitlement uprated accordingly and shall in accordance with the following
Rules pay increased contributions in respect of the said reckonable service.
